Suspended from the Queen River Footbridge, this kinetic sculpture work offers a gentle invitation to listen to the flow of water. Copper plates immersed in the Queen River are etched by acidic waters, transferring the traces of mining to new sensory mediums. Evolving over time, the material echoes of the past, the present, and the possible future can be heard. Whether alive or dead, the sound of a river stays the same.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of Lutruwita/Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
